The awful flooding that has affected so many over the past week has damaged homes, farms and livelihoods, and we must do all we can to mitigate the devastating impact it continues to have on our community. Although things have improved, there is still much more that can be done, which is why I am continuing to press for further flood resilience measures in Parliament.
Yesterday I asked the Minister to hold discussions on the potential benefits of river dredging with the Environment Agency, which may help to alleviate the impact of flooding on certain areas. This is, of course, one potential action amongst many, however I will continue to explore all options with Ministers.
