New Dowty Propellers factory

I am very pleased that the aerospace manufacturer Dowty Propellers has announced that it is building a new propeller factory in the constituency. Having a global organisation opening a factory is a great opportunity for the area.

I’m happy to announce that the Cheese Rolling is being celebrated by the Royal Mail in their new 'Curious Customs' stamp collection. The Cheese Rolling is one of the many quirky traditions that make our countryside such a great place to live.

Working with the Environment Agency who are still busy working across the area checking that gates and sluices are free from blockages and debris build-up so that flood water can move quickly through the system.

I was very sorry to hear that Horizon Nuclear Power, which is based in my constituency, has decided to suspend its nuclear programme in the United Kingdom following a decision by its parent company, Hitachi.

Overcoming barriers to zero carbon homes

I met with constituents to discuss issues surrounding renewable energy, including how the government can help support and promote the industry. We discussed a wide range of issues including ideas on how to overcome barriers to zero carbon homes.  

Gloucester Jobs Fair

There is a Gloucester Jobs Fair on Wednesday 27th June 2018 @ The Guildhall, Gloucester, 10am to 1pm.

This will be free to attend and there will be over 20 exhibitors from various sectors and industries recruiting on the day.

No registration is required.

Meeting with National Farmers Union

On Friday I met with our local National Farmers Union to discuss current priorities across the local farming community. I look forward to further discussions on police funding, flood protection, halal slaughter, bovine TB, and countryside stewardship.

Missing Link progress

Gloucestershire MPs met with Roads Minister Jesse Norman to discuss the next steps towards fixing the Missing Link problem. The discussions are going well and progress is indeed being made. Options will be presented to the public next February.
