I have had a number of excellent discussions this week with representatives from across Africa on trade and other issues.
On Monday I held a meeting with a trade delegation from Nigeria, which included representatives from the agri-business sector and officials from our Department for International Trade operating in Nigeria.
Yesterday I chaired a meeting of the APPG on Ethiopia with the Ethiopian Ambassador. We discussed a wide range of issues including trade, positive steps taken to increase participation in education, and how the country is tackling FGM and child marriage. There is great deal of positive news coming from Ethiopia.
I also met with a trade delegation from Ghana, along with our Trade Envoy to Ghana, Adam Afriyie MP.
I look forward to continuing to foster relationships between the UK and these countries moving forward.
