- Regional Representatives: met with Ashley Fox (MEP for the South West) to discuss various current issues.
- Constituent visits: met with local constituents here at Westminster and had the opportunity to promote products from Cotteswold Dairy which is produced locally and sold here in Westminster!
- Northern Ireland Affairs: chaired a meeting of the NI Affairs Committee where we heard from Dan Mulhall, Irish Ambassador to the UK, as part of our Land Border Inquiry. Earlier in the week we met with the Victims Commissioner. We are also working towards finalising our Tourism Inquiry report.
- Together for short lives: met with Together for short lives to hear about the excellent and important work they are doing in providing palliative care for children and young people.
- Secretary of State for Transport: met with the Secretary of State for Transport where he confirmed Missing Link scheme will go ahead and there will shortly be a consultation on the various solutions being discussed.
- Lyme Disease UK: my staff attended an important meeting on Lyme Disease here at the House of Commons to look at how we can better address issues surrounding diagnosis and treatment to give those suffering the best chance at recovery. I have put my name forward in support of forming an All Party Parliamentary Group on the illness.
- Minister for Schools: Gloucestershire MPs met with the Rt Hon Nick Gibb MP to discuss the Government's proposals for a National Funding Formula. We have emphasised that historic underfunding in Gloucestershire schools must be addressed.
- Westminster Africa Business Group: the Westminster Africa Business Group held an Annual Dinner with Guest Speaker Secretary of State for International Development, the Rt Hon Priti Patel MP. The Secretary of State told businesses and non-profits operating across Africa about DFIDs Economic Development Strategy. It was an excellent evening and I am very encouraged by the work DFID is undertaking in the area of increasing prosperity, living standards and education across Africa.
