Yesterday a group of Gloucestershire MPs met Health Secretary Victoria Atkins to discuss the funding of GP surgeries following correspondence from a number of them. We made a number of suggestions and requests and the Health Secretary has said she will consider them.
The River Avon and the River Severn both flow through the Tewkesbury constituency, and while they do bring their own share of problems, as waterways they are, understandably, very precious to local communities.
Stopping illegal immigration, most of which is through small boats coming across the Channel, is one of the priorities of my constituents. I am therefore supporting the policy of transporting people who come to this country via unrecognised routes to Rwanda to have their asylum claims decided.
The awful flooding that has affected so many over the past week has damaged homes, farms and livelihoods, and we must do all we can to mitigate the devastating impact it continues to have on our community.

Flood alerts continue to remain in place for the River Avon and the River Severn, with levels at an expected peak of 4.7m at the Mythe. Additional flooding is anticipated after some rainfall later today, which could result in surface flooding.

Pleased to receive notification from the Roads Minister and the County Council that possible proposals to reduce J9 to a two-way junction are being dropped, and that the Minister is asking that options are to be considered to increase the capacity of the A46.
