I held a very useful meeting with the Schools Minister, Nick Gibb, and Headteachers from across the Tewkesbury constituency to discuss school funding.

Building regulations

I held a very useful meeting with Housing Minister Kit Malthouse to discuss changing building regulations to ensure that new buildings are self-sufficient in electricity. His response was encouraging and he is to have further discussions in government about this.

Road surfaces and potholes

I welcome that the Government will be consulting on imposing higher standards on utility firms in order to prevent potholes.

World Animal Protection UK

Supporting a #BetterDealForAnimals with World Animal Protection UK. The UK has an excellent record on animal welfare and this will continue as we leave the EU.

National Apprenticeship Week

Supporting National Apprenticeship Week in Parliament. There are already many excellent companies in the constituency promoting apprenticeships and I want to work with others to create even more opportunities for young people locally.

I met with the Home Secretary to discuss the Government's consultation on tackling unauthorised encampments.

Business Hub at the Oxtalls Campus

Woodmancote Guides

Had a really good visit to Woodmancote Guides. They are very bright girls, ably led, and asked a series of intelligent questions. I came away with much work to do!

Cheltenham and Gloucester Jobs Fair is running on Wednesday 13thFebruary 2019 at the Town Hall, Cheltenham, 10am to 1pm.
This will be free to attend and there will be exhibitors from various sectors and industries recruiting on the day.
