Great news announced by the Health Secretary- Cheltenham’s A&E is remaining open! Alex Chalk, Geoffrey Clifton-Brown and I have led a major campaign on this issue and Matt Hancock has responded favourably.

Cleeve School - Climate Change Event

Really enjoyed visiting Cleeve School and talking to pupils about climate change and ways in which we can avoid it. Thanks to those who organised it and the pupils who took part. It was very worthwhile.

I welcome the announcement of 46 extra police officers for Gloucestershire as part of the government’s policy of recruiting an extra 20,000 officers across the country.

A417 Missing Link

Following the Secretary of State for Transport’s confirmation that the A417 Missing Link proposed scheme can go out to public consultation, Highways England have been finalising their plans.

Cheltenham A&E

Recently, Health managers stated that there were no plans to close Cheltenham’s A&E “in September”. That is good news of course, but we need confirmation of their plans thereafter.
